We’ve gotten the news across Twitter that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 was launched yesterday at a gala type event with luminaries like Jimmy Choo making an appearance.
We didn’t get an invite to the event and dredging through the Internet, details on the new BlackBerry to hit Malaysia has been scant. No pricing or any other details are available about the Torch. Not from the carriers and even Brightstar, the official distributor of BlackBerry here in Malaysia has not yet updated its website to to reflect yesterday’s launch.
Well, at least we know that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is officially available here in Malaysia. AP units are going around RM2,800 at the moment so expect to see officially to have an RRP of around RM2,500 or less.
We’ve sent an email to Brightstar to get more details on the Torch over a week ago but have yet to get a reply from them. So if the PR people from Brightstar or BlackBerry Malaysia are reading this blog, please reply our email ya, we’re really interested to experience the Torch. Thanks!
