Maxis AirAsia In-flight coverage

Maxis now allows you to make calls, send SMS and go online on AirAsia flights. All this is made possible via OnAir in-flight communication solutions.

The call rates are charged at RM11/minute while SMS are charged at RM2 each. If you need data, it is available at RM25/MB. Quite a premium price to pay but it can come handy for people that crucially need to stay connected.

There’s no mention whether receiving SMS or calls are charged and whether this is applicable on all AirAsia flights at this point. For more info, visit Maxis’s roaming page here. This isn’t the first as both Maxis & DiGi had similar in-flight service on selected Malaysia Airlines flights.

As part of their promotion, lucky users may get a complimentary free drink. You’ll get an sms if you are selected.
