A trio of official Yahoo apps hits the Android market

Yahoo has just released a trio of official apps for the Android OS. If you use Yahoo a lot and have an Android powered phone you can now look forward to using the official Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Search Widget apps on your device. Though the search widget is only available for download in the US.

Yahoo says that its Android app have been optimized for Motorola Droid/Milestone, HTC Incredible and the Google Nexus One. You’ll have to be running Android 2.0 to be able to use the app. So if you’re the dude with the G1, sorry man.

Both the Yahoo Mail and Messenger apps support almost all the features that you’re familiar with including rich text formatting, emoticons, and access to your Address Book.

In addition, Yahoo has also updated its Yahoo app for the iPhone, now with HTML5 support.
