Motorola has finally revealed its newest Tablet, the Motorola Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media Edition. The new tablets now features a new design which has similar corners as the RAZR.
Moving on with the device, both models come with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. In the imaging department, there’s a 5MP camera at the back and a 1.3MP in front.
The obvious difference between the 2 are the sizes. The Xoom 2 has a 10.1″ HD display and weighs 599 grams, just a few grams more than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Meanwhile, the Xoom 2 Media Edition has a smaller 8.2″ HD screen and weighs at a featherweight 386 grams.
Both devices have Gorilla glass but the 10.1″ Xoom 2 comes with extra Splashguard for spill protection. The Xoom 2 Media Edition also has something special as well. Being a media device, it comes with built in subwoofer & 3D Surround sound for richer audio experience.
In the promo video, they have shown a Motorola Stylus for added precision. However it is not clear if it is bundled together with the tablets or sold separately as an extra accessory. Let’s hope that if it gets here, the Xoom 2 will be more competitive in pricing compared to its Xoom predecessor. The Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition will be first made available in Ireland and UK in mid this month.
