Xiaomi Malaysia has revealed that the upgraded Redmi Note 4 is officially here! But, the question on everyone’s mind will probably be — how much is it?
After some speculation on our part regarding the price of the high-spec Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, we finally have confirmation that our initial guesses were…wrong. The high-spec Redmi Note 4 is RM150 more than its lower spec’d sibling.
In a Facebook Post on Mi Malaysia’s page, the brand revealed that the high-spec Redmi Note 4 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage has officially landed locally. It will come in three colours — Black, Gold and Grey — and will be made available on the 29th of April 2017. Although Mi Malaysia refrained from mentioning where interested buyers can get one, we believe that it will likely be at all authorised Xiaomi retailers nationwide.
To refresh your memory, the Redmi Note 4 is an incredibly good value-for-money buy. You got a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass on top, a Snapdragon 625 14nm octa-core processor and a large 4,100 mAh battery. Before this, it only came in one variant and that was the low spec one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Now, though, Mi Malaysia has brought in the higher-spec version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
In the camera department, the handset will feature a 13-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/2.0 at the back while selfies are handled by a 5MP f/2.0 shooter in front. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 running on top.
Despite the higher price tag, this is still a great value phone. We would however, have loved to see it below RM900.
