When it comes to handheld gaming, nothing beats the good ol’ buttons with tactile feel. With more games coming out on phones like the iPhone, playing on that capacitive screen with virtual buttons seems to be lacking. More often you need to look where you tap/push, affecting the gameplay itself.
The Japanese which obviously take gaming seriously is taking the matter into their own hands by introducing plastic stickers called Tactile+Plus. This consists of a mini screen protector with transparent bumps for D-Pad and action buttons. Quite a neat idea which makes game presses more assuring. Since it is just a standard sticker, it should be compatible with any touch screen smartphone. The only thing you need to consider is the app and the placement of the virtual buttons on screen.
