Engadget has gotten some convincing pictures of Sony’s upcoming PSP that runs on Android. It is reported to be running the upcoming Gingerbread (Android 2.3) which is expected to be skinned with Sony’s PSP interface.
On the hardware, it is said to be sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 512MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM. The screen is mentioned to be between 3.7 to 4.1 inches. For navigation, there’s even a multitouch touchpad in between the controllers. On expandable media, it uses the standard microSD instead of Sony’s Memory Sticks.
Things are looking good for the upcoming Sony Ericsson mobile gaming device. We hope this will regain back some ground for the struggling Android player. Finally a Sony Ericsson that’s not running Android 1.6.
