Honor Malaysia’s Facebook page has revealed the anticipated date the flashier premium honor 7 will arrive in Malaysia. Having spent some time with the honor 7 in London, we’re looking forward how the Malaysian market reacts to this device, possibly outclassing the Huawei P8 in the process.

The honor series has raised the bar since releasing their latest device in Europe, which boasts a metal chassis, a first for the honor lineup. Perhaps honor has taken a new turn, as they’ve announced during the release in UK that they want to reach out to the new generation. Capturing the youth is a daunting task but it gets easier if you have an affordable, yet great looking product.

Recapping some specs, the honor 7 carries a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x1080) IPS-Neo display. Underneath the metal-clad body is a home-grown 64-bit Octa-core Kirin 935 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM for zippy performance.

Internationally, it gets 16GB of on-board storage, opposed to China’s huge 64GB step up option. Luckily there’s support for a microSD card up to 128GB for your expanded storage needs.

Photo bugs will be pleased by the larger 20-megapixel sensor (f/2.0 aperture) that makes up the back of the device, along with its finger-print sensor module. On the front, selfies will be taken by an 8-megapixel shooter with soft flash.

The lights will be kept on thanks to a 3,100 mAh battery that supports quick charge (0-50% in 30 minutes). A feature packed device that weighs in at 157 grams and 8.5mm thick. Operating system-wise it runs on EMUI 3.1 over Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Malaysians love a bargain but there’s no info on the pricing as the vmall registration link leads to nothing (we checked), a bug that we hope the webmasters can sort out since many would be interested in this device. Its predecessor was launched at RM999 but the latest honor could see the price hover around RM 1,200 to RM 1,300, mainly dependent on how our currency continues to float on trading. We’re most probably going to hear something from the China based company soon regarding its pricing, as they usually do so before sales kick off.

In the mean time, you can watch our hands-on of the honor 7 below:
