Apple has just announced that a Wireless Speaker from beats can be a potential danger and they want you to stop using it immediately. The affected device is the Beats Pill XL wireless speaker and Apple wants you to return it back for RM1,175, as part of its recall campaign that’s applicable in Malaysia. According to the official notice, they have initiated the recall exercise after finding that the Pill XL’s built-in battery is prone to overheating, which can be a serious fire risk.

The Beats Pill XL is the bigger boombox-like version of its standard Beats Pill. It gets a handle at the back and it comes in 5 colours – Black, White, Pink, Metallic Sky and Titanium. Meanwhile, the unaffected smaller Beats Pill speaker is still on sale at RM790.

To return your Beats Pill XL, just fill up this form and Apple will contact you for further arrangements. The refund of RM1,175 will be transfered electronically within 3-4 weeks.

Thanks borneoboi for the tip!
