Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 640 and 640XL locally barely two weeks ago and now it looks like a new Lumia is on the way, with Microsoft discontinuing the Lumia 830 to make way for it’s successor.

Rumour has it that the Lumia 840 will be arriving in a matter of months, with the mid-range phone expected to be running Windows 8.1 GDR2 out of the box. The smartphone is also likely to come with a 13 or 14 megapixel camera with PureView and a 5 megapixel front camera which is an upgrade from the previous model, as well as dual-SIM support, an unspecified “better processor” and will be sporting a screen size around the 5-inch mark.

The Lumia 830 has already been pulled from Microsoft’s India store which sets the stage for a brand new phone model. It’s likely to still be in stock in some places for some time to come but it’s unlikely to stay available for very long.
