With Google+ now splitting up into individual services, the guys over at Android Police have discovered that your pictures would be backing up to Google Drive instead of Google+ or the standard Photos app. They found that the latest version of the cloud storage app on Android has preliminary code for an eventual photo backup feature that will not just back up images on your phone but there are also hidden mentions of Chromecast streaming support too. That means you will have an easier time sharing your files on a display.
The new features may not be going live in the next release because Google sometimes leave pre-release code hanging around in their apps but since they’re there, we are likely to see the new features roll out sooner than later.
