Grab PayLater now works on any DuitNow QR merchant, currently rolling out to selected users

Grab is expanding the versatility of its Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service, PayLater.

The feature can now be used at any physical merchant that displays a DuitNow QR code, significantly broadening where users can split their payments.

PayLater support expanded beyond Grab QR standees

Previously, using Grab PayLater at physical retail outlets required finding a Grab-specific QR standee or a merchant that explicitly supported the payment option.

With this update, users are no longer restricted by the colour or provider of the QR standee.

As long as the merchant’s standee features the official DuitNow QR logo, users can scan the code using the Grab app and choose PayLater at checkout. Existing Grab QR standees will continue to support PayLater as usual.

Currently available as an exclusive early-access feature

This expanded functionality is not yet available to all users simultaneously. Grab is currently rolling out the capability to a selected whitelist of users for initial trial before a potential wider release.

Whitelisted users who make payments via PayLater when scanning a DuitNow QR code are also eligible to earn up to 2x GrabCoins. Users can check if they have access to the feature by scanning any DuitNow QR code within the Grab app to see if the PayLater option is selectable during payment.
