CelcomDigi recently revealed that the company has scheduled a system upgrade from 14 to 15 October. The process will take around 12 hours to complete, and certain services will be unavailable during that time.

The service disruptions will only affect Digi customers

The upcoming system upgrade, scheduled to take place from 9 PM on 14 October until 9 AM on 15 October, will only affect Digi customers. According to a notice on CelcomDigi’s website, Celcom services will be operational as usual, with the exception of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) port-in and port-out services.

Furthermore, Digi customers don’t have to be worried that they would be cut off from the world. This is because their voice calls, texts, and Internet service will continue to work as usual during the scheduled system upgrade.

However, the telco urged Digi Fibre and 5G Home WiFi customers not to restart or reset their router from 9 PM on 14 October up to 11:59 PM on 16 October. Pay attention to the timing, as it is much later than the end of the scheduled system upgrade.

The affected services mainly revolve around payment and account management

So, which services will be unavailable during the upgrade process? The list is actually quite extensive according to the announcement on CelcomDigi’s website.

For starters, these Digi customer service channels will be inaccessible during the upgrade period including both online and offline:

  • MyDigi App
  • MyDigi Website
  • CelcomDigi Online Store
  • Digi Kiosk
  • CelcomDigi Store/ Celcom bluecube/ Digi Store
  • MyDigi Business Portal
  • UMB (* <short code> #  to access the self-service menu)

Aside from that, here’s the general list of services that will be off-limits during the upgrade process:

  • Registration services: new customer registration, change of plans
  • Charging Services: purchases involving value-added and add-on services, Digipay, roaming passes, device and service contracts
  • Bill payment and prepaid reloads
  • Account management: termination, line suspension, SIM card change, TalkTime services
  • Digital subscription renewal: Netflix, Spotify, iQiyi, Viu, Hungama, Microsoft.
