Apple rolled out the iOS 17.1 update earlier this week which provides several new features for iPhones such as AirDrop over the Internet, additional options in StandBy settings, and many more. However, the first major update for the iOS 17 also marked a new era for Yes customers out there.

This is because iOS 17.1 is the first iOS version that officially supports Yes according to the announcement on its Facebook page. What this means is that Yes customers with iPhones will no longer need to be worried about being locked out from services that are only available to Apple telco partners.

While Yes name has not yet been listed on Apple’s support site, the CEO of YTL Communications Wing K. Lee has confirmed to SoyaCincau.com that among the services that are now officially available to Yes customers on iPhone include eSIM, FaceTime over Mobile, and Personal Hotspot.

Wing has also confirmed that Yes customers can activate VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling on their iPhones as well. For customers that are using iPhones with 5G capability, they should be able to utilise 5G on their devices too.

As for compatible devices, the list remains the same as per the original iOS 17 which covers iPhone XS and newer models. To obtain the iOS 17.1 update, all you need to do is go to iPhone’s Settings > General > Software Update.

If your iPhone is already running on the latest iOS 17 version, the release note for iOS 17.1 will then appear. To proceed with the update, choose the “Download and Install” option.

The iPhone 15 Series.

Meanwhile, Yes has recently revealed that it is planning to launch its own iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro plans on 3 November 2023. The telco is still keeping the full pricing of its first-ever iPhone plans a secret for now but it did say that the starting price for the iPhone 15 Pro plan is RM51 per month while the iPhone 15 plan will start at RM21 per month.
