Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) has officially launched its 5G experience centre at Exchange 106, TRX in Kuala Lumpur. Branded as My5G Portal, the centre aims to showcase the digital future made possible by 5G which delivers high-speed data transfer at low latency.
My5G Portal features over 50 use cases and solutions which cover 12 industry verticals such as healthcare, smart city and public city, surveillance and security, manufacturing automation, logistics, mobility and retail. According to DNB, it aims to show the true capabilities of 5G-powered technologies in the space of automation, artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR) and robotics, to drive the adoption of 5G among enterprise leaders in the public and private sectors, as well as the general public.
The 5G experience centre is said to be a collaborative effort between DNB and its key partner, Ericsson, as well as an ecosystem of over 20 local and international solution partners. DNB says it serves as a catalyst for knowledge sharing, ideation and co-creation, driving the advancement of 5G technology and its adoption on a global scale.
My5G Portal was officiated by Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil. During the launch, he said the 5G experience centre reflects the critical role that 5G plays in driving the nation’s economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the rakyat’s quality of life. Fahmi said Malaysia’s median 5G speed is at 485.25Mbps, making the country the fastest amongst Southeast Asian countries or third globally.
