[ UPDATE 01/07/2023 12:00 ] How to upgrade your Malaysia Airlines Enrich Elite Status with points?
===
Malaysia Airlines has announced a new promo for its multi-currency EnrichMoney Visa Prepaid card which can help you level up your Enrich membership status. During the grand launch held recently, it was announced that EnrichMoney Visa Prepaid cardholders can fast-track their Elite status by simply converting their Enrich Points to EnrichMoney Points.
Upgrade to Enrich Silver with 40,000 points top-up
According to Malaysia Airlines, cardholders who top up 40,000 points will be entitled to an Enrich Silver status while those who top up 80,000 points will be entitled to Enrich Gold Status.
For clarity, EnrichMoney Points is a reward system for EnrichMoney Visa Prepaid and it is different from Enrich Points. EnrichMoney points are earned when you make a qualifying payment transaction at a selected issuer and Visa merchant using the EnrichMoney Visa Prepaid card. You can learn more about the EnrichMoney x Elite Status campaign here.
The EnrichMoney Points can be used to pay for an item post-transaction which is somewhat similar to a cashback/rebate. This means you’ll have to make a payment with money available in your EnrichMoney Visa Prepaid card first, and then redeem using the points after the payment is completed as long as it is within the 14 days redemption period.
However, the real value of the EnrichMoney Points isn’t really clear as T&C states that the exchange rate for redemption is set and determined by the “Company” and issuer. EnrichMoney Points can’t be converted to Enrich Points and it comes with a one-year validity.
To top up your EnrichMoney points with your accumulated Enrich Points, the conversion is 1 to 1 (1 Enrich Points = 1 EnrichMoney Points). Users can top up a maximum of 50,000 points per transaction and up to 100,000 points per day.
According to Malaysia Airlines, the EnrichMoney app has recorded 10,000 app downloads since its introduction in March 2023. As a welcome offer to new cardholders, Enrich is offering 1,000 Bonus Enrich Points and complimentary Golden Lounge Access. On top of that, they are offering the first 1,000 cardholders who transact a minimum of RM3,000 with a MHGiftcard worth RM50 which can be used on their next flight on Malaysia Airlines. To sweeten the deal, the top three spenders will each get 50,000 Bonus Enrich Points which is equivalent to a round-trip ticket to a destination in ASEAN, Japan or Australia. These introductory offers are valid until 31st July 2023.
First-time users are required to perform a minimum reload of RM100 and you will be left with RM60 in the balance. RM20 will be deducted as a refundable deposit, RM10 for the annual fee and another RM10 for card issuance. Powered by Merchantrade, the EnrichMoney card can store your money in 20 different currencies and you can use it at any merchants or shops that accept Visa worldwide. The card also allows you to withdraw cash in the local currency from any Visa Plus ATM.
