Malaysia has recently lifted the interstate travel restrictions, allowing many to visit their loved ones again, as well as just travel for fun as well. To aid in your future travel plans, Grab is introducing a new option on their app called ‘Intercity’ which allows users to book bus and ferry trips to travel both intercity and interstate.

Grab also has options to book ‘Hotels’ and ‘Attractions’, so they are really covering all their bases to make Grab a seamless end-to-end travel app.

The ‘Intercity’ feature was made in collaboration with Splyt and Easybook, providing over 15,000 bus and ferry routes throughout Malaysia. Users will be able to book a ticket, pay with GrabPay, and earn GrabRewards points.

How to use Grab Intercity

First, open up the Grab app. Then, go to ‘Transport’ and select ‘Intercity’. There will be an option for Bus or Ferry.

The next step is to insert your trip details. You can either book Round Trip or One Way, and you need to specify the locations, dates, and number of passengers.

After your trip is booked, it is important to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place. These are the main SOPs outlined by the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN), which include showing your vaccination certificate to prove you are fully vaccinated, reducing interaction, and wearing a face mask throughout your journey.

If you want to learn more about the Intercity feature, you can visit Grab’s FAQ page on their website.
