JobStreet announces their return, hosting this year’s Virtual Career Fair in Malaysia from 14 October to 16 October. The event will specifically focus on four key areas of specialisations—Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Business Development and IT.

“The employment market is on the road to recovery as the economy begins to progressively open up again due to the national vaccination programme. As such, we are seeing much greater demand from both sides: Jobseekers seeking employment, and organisations looking to build strong and resilient teams,” said JobStreet’s Managing Director Vic Sithasanan.

Sithasanan also mentioned that the upcoming Virtual Career Fair will be focusing on “helping jobseekers future-proof their careers with in-demand roles”. They also aim to help employers “boost their organisation’s growth”.

Similar to physical career fairs, the virtual fair will have “live interactions” including on-the-spot interviews with participating employers and career coaches. But these interactions, obviously, would all be online. Sessions with career coaches, for example, would be through live webinars. The fair would also let you have access to career tools like an artificial intelligence (AI) resume builder, an interview practice tool, a cover letter builder and a salary calculator tool.

According to JobStreet, there are “over 40,000 online job postings per month” on the site itself. Thousands of those jobs would also be on offer at the Virtual Career Fair this year across various industries throughout Malaysia.

The latest information by the Department of Statistics revealed that the number of unemployed persons increased by 1.2 per cent to record 778,200 persons in July (compared to June’s 768,700 persons. Employed persons declined from 15.30 million persons in June to 15.29 million persons in July.
