Shopee is now taking on the likes of GrabFood and FoodPanda with the introduction of ShopeeFood. The food delivery service will launch officially this coming Friday but it is already visible to selected users in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Similar to Shopee’s eCommerce experience, you can enjoy free delivery, discount vouchers and redeem Shopee coins to offset the total amount.

According to Shopee, ShopeeFood will offer a variety of options including popular brands such as A&W, Burger King, Nando’s Starbucks and Tealive as well as local street food stalls. ShopeeFood will be rolled out in batches to 8 million Malaysians in the Klang Valley starting 24th September 2021.

Shopee Chief Operating Officer (COO) Terence Pang said “We are delighted to include food delivery as part of the Shopee experience. Malaysians can now shop for all their essentials online, enjoy entertainment on Shopee Live, play their favorite game on Shopee Prizes, and satisfy their cravings via the app.”

ShopeeFood can be accessed from the home screen of the Shopee app by clicking on the “ShopeeFood – Food Delivery” icon. By default, it will list out the hot picks around your area followed by listings according to category.

ShopeeFood Promo

As part of its introduction, Shopee is offering free delivery vouchers with RM0 minimum spend plus discount vouchers up to RM8 off. From 24th to 28th September, you can enjoy greater value as ShopeeFood will offer RM10 and below meal deals while stocks last. Shopee will highlight more food delivery promos on their official Instagram page.

The delivery fee for ShopeeFood starts from RM2 and it will increase according to distance. Unlike Grab and FoodPanda, there’s no self-pickup option at the moment.

ShopeeFood Malaysia Launch

There’s no cash on delivery option as ShopeeFood only accepts Credit or Debit card, ShopeePay and online banking. As usual, the discount vouchers are applicable when you pay using ShopeePay.

In conjunction with the upcoming 10.10 sale, ShopeePay users can receive up to 10,101 Shopee Coins each time they top up their mobile wallets between 2nd to 9th October. For more info, you can check out the ShopeeFood promo page. If you are a restaurant or eatery operator, you can sign up as a ShopeeFood partner online.
