Malaysia has recorded 4,140 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 466,330. There are 44 new deaths reported today which sets a new record high since the start of the pandemic. The COVID-19 death toll is now at 1,866.
The Ministry of Health has reported 3,432 new recoveries and a total of 422,329 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now at 90.56% while the mortality rate is now at 0.40%.
There are currently 42,135 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 503 are in ICU while 272 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,140 new cases today, 9 are imported while 4,131 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,507 cases, followed by Johor with 433 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 398 cases and Pulau Pinang with 338 cases.
