After the National Security Council had increased the maximum number of diners per table from 2 to 4 during the CMCO, the Selangor state government has taken a step further by permitting up to a maximum of 5 diners per table.
The move was announced by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari via Twitter. The maximum limit for 5 pax is only for tables that are meant for 10 people. He also reminded businesses to ensure sufficient physical distancing at their premises.

Do note that the new ruling is only applicable for CMCO areas of Selangor. For Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, the limit is still 4 person per table provided that is is big enough. Although dine-ins are permitted at restaurants, the government still recommends the public to opt for take away, delivery or drive-thru during the CMCO.

The Klang Valley is currently placed under CMCO for a period of two weeks to contain the spread of COVID-19. As of yesterday, there are a total of 4 red zones in the Klang Valley which include Klang, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Gombak. The Utama cluster that’s linked to 1 Utama shopping mall has recorded 105 new cases and it’s highest among all active clusters yesterday.
