Federal Territory landmarks will turn blue as a tribute to COVID-19 frontliners

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has announced that several buildings and landmarks will be illuminated in blue for four nights as a tribute to all medical frontliners battling COVID-19 in Malaysia and around the world. He also urged everyone to participate in the movement.

According to his tweet, the campaign to turn the skyline blue will start from next Thursday, 30th April at 10pm and it will be happening every night until the 3rd of May 2020. The minister also posted photos of buildings and landmarks in blue which included the new Saloma link bridge.

After a month into the movement control order, Malaysia is showing signs of progress in containing the spread of COVID-19. For the past 7 days, Malaysia has reported more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases. New daily cases have dropped below 100 for the past 3 days. At the moment, there are 5,389 total cases in Malaysia with 89 deaths so far. 3,197 cases have recovered, which is equivalent to 59.32%.
