The official details for the upcoming cloud-based gaming service, Google Stadia, were released in an official livestream yesterday to much excitement, with Google promising minimal latency and up to 4K resolution and 60fps for games.
Launching in November 2019, you’ll need a Chromecast Ultra for TV-play, while Chrome browser on tablets and PCs will also support Google Stadia. However, Google revealed that Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a smartphones will have exclusive access to Google Stadia, but there are high hopes that the service will make its way to other mobile devices.
While Google Stadia may be a step into the unknown for many gamers, the list of games that have been confirmed will offer a modicum of comfort to many—a gaming system is only as good as the games you can play on it, after all.
