Latest ASUS ZenFone 6 teaser tells us it has a bigger battery than the OnePlus 7

The OnePlus 7 series was the biggest news yesterday and now it’s ASUS’ turn to shine. Ahead of its new ZenFone 6 reveal, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has taken a jab at the brand that was once known for making “flagship killer” devices.

In a tweet, it says “5000 > 1+7+3700”, which is pretty obvious that it implies that the ZenFone 6 packs a 5,000mAh battery versus the OnePlus 7’s (non-Pro) smaller 3,700mAh capacity. At 5,000mAh, this is the largest battery to be offered on a flagship smartphone. It also says, why choose ordinary when you can #DefyOrdinary?

From what we’ve seen so far, the ZenFone 6 will come with an all-screen design that has no notches or punch-holes. This is a massive step up from its previous models that looked like iPhone X clones.

Instead of having a pop-up selfie camera or a slider mechanism, the ZenFone 6 appears to be using a flip camera design which allows you to utilise the 48MP + 13MP dual-cameras at the rear for selfies. Unlike the Galaxy A80 which has a rotating camera module, it is said that you can utilise the ZenFone 6’s flip camera at various angles.

While most flagship smartphones are removing bare essentials like a headphone jack, ASUS is retaining more user favourite features onto their latest device. As hinted earlier, the ZenFone 6 will come with a notification LED and there’s even a triple card slot, allowing you to use two SIMs and one microSD card at the same time.

The ASUS ZenFone 6 event is taking place today at 8:00PM in Valencia, Spain. That’s 2:00AM Malaysian time on 17th May. You can follow their event live on their website.
