Got Unifi Turbo but not getting full speed? You may be eligible for a free modem replacement

Unifi Turbo Speed upgrade old modem

With TM’s Unifi Turbo campaign, eligible Unifi customers could get upgraded up to 800Mbps. Since the speeds are up to 10X faster, the existing modem and router that came with your original fibre broadband plan might not be good enough to provide an optimal broadband experience.

If you’ve gotten the upgrade but can’t seem to enjoy full speeds, TM has made it easier for you to check if you need to replace any hardware.

One of the most common bottlenecks for Unifi Turbo is the router. To enjoy faster speeds especially 300Mbps and above, you’ll need a compatible dual-band 2.4GHz + 5GHz WiFi router with gigabit LAN support. Some earlier WiFi routers may struggle to push faster speeds especially if it only works on 2.4GHz. Of course, your devices would also need to support the faster speeds as well. It definitely helps if it supports 5GHz WiFi with Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) support.

According to TM, your modem (BTU) might be too old and you could be eligible for a free replacement. You can check if you’re required to replace your current modem here.

To proceed, you’ll need to login using your Unifi self-care account. If you don’t have one, you can register immediately using your IC and your Unifi fixed line number.

If your modem needs to be replaced, you’ll be prompted to leave your personal details and TM will contact you directly to make an appointment. For more info, visit Unifi’s hardware checker page.

If you haven’t received your Unifi Turbo upgrade yet, you can also check if you’re eligible and when it’s coming to your home through their self-care portal.
