Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd Group CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan is believed to be one of the top candidates for the top job at TM, sources close to the matter told NSTP. If this is true, Rohana could be the first ever female to take the CEO’s seat at TM.
According to the source, Rohana’s name has been floated for consideration since the resignation of Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly in June.
“There are five candidates, and three candidates are not from TM. One of them is her (Rohana), “said the source.
Rohana will resign as Astro Group CEO, with effect from 31 January 2019, but will remain on the Board as Non-Executive Director.
The other candidate that is being considered for TM’s CEO is TM’s Chief Strategy Officer Dr Farid Mohamed Sani, sources told NSTP.
In addition, the source said Datuk Bazlan Osman, who resigned as TM’s Acting Group CEO on Friday, declined an offer from TM’s board for the job before resigning after serving the group for 16 years.
On Friday, TM announced the appointment of Imri Mokhtar as Acting Group CEO following the resignation of Bazlan which came into effect on November 16. Bazlan has also resigned as TM’s Executive Director which will take effect on 28 February 2019.
