Huawei 6% off now

The Malaysian Government had recently announced that GST will be zero-rated beginning of next month. With about two weeks to go, it appears that it is better to hold your smartphone purchases as it could be cheaper when the GST rate is reduced from 6% to 0%.

If you can’t wait, Huawei Malaysia has just announced a 6% off promo which will be kicking off starting tomorrow.

From 18 to 31 May 2018, Huawei is offering an instant 6% Cash Back on selected Huawei devices. Essentially, you can enjoy lower prices now before the new tax rate is enforced.

Just for reference, the Huawei P20 Pro is currently priced at RM3,299 which is inclusive of RM186.74 for 6% GST. If the GST amount is 0%, it could cost RM3,112.26 but since the cash back offer is 6% off its official retail price, the P20 Pro can be yours at RM3,101.06. If you’re wondering how much would smartphones cost at 0% GST, you can check out some examples here.
