Yoodo Malaysia

After a couple of teasers, Yoodo is finally official. As we are seeing new telco brands coming into the marketplace such as ookyo, tapp and Unifi Mobile, here comes a new player called Yoodo.

The brand believes that “you” as the consumer can do things better and that’s why they are offering a fully customisable mobile plan.

Unlike normal plans that come with its preset amount of data and features, Yoodo lets you pick exactly how much you need for data, calls and SMS each month. If you’re not happy with your current selection, Yoodo gives you the freedom to change your plan at any time.

As seen earlier, you get to design your own plan by adjusting a couple of sliders. The cheapest option you can get is RM3/month that comes with 50 SMS and it goes up to RM222/month with 100GB of data, 5GB of Facebook, 10GB YouTube, 5GB Instagram, 2,000 minutes of calls and 2,000 SMS.

For more a more realistic selection, you can get 5GB at RM30/month, 10GB at RM50/month and 20GB at RM70/month. There are also add-ons such as 5GB Facebook or Instagram at RM10/month each or 10GB of YouTube at RM20/month.

Being a digital-focused telco offerring, the signup process and customer service are done exclusively through the app. You can pick a new 011 mobile number or port-in to Yoodo from your existing telco. To get started, the official app is now available on both Android and iOS.

Unlike tapp and ookyo, Yoodo is compatible with the iPhone and there’s no VPN required. Yoodo will deliver your SIM for free within 1-3 working days. There’s even an Express Delivery option via GoGet which is available from Monday-Friday between 8am-4pm in the Klang Valley. In terms of payment, it appears that they only accept credit/debit card for now.

Yoodo operates on Celcom’s 4G network and you can use your data freely for hotspot/tethering at no extra charge. For those who travel a lot, Yoodo even offers a Roam Like Home add-on. For only RM10/day, you can use your existing data, calls and SMS in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Laos, and Brunei.

If you’re wondering how does Yoodo compare against other “digital” telco services, you can check out this quick rundown by SoyaCincau BM. For more info, you can visit their website.
