The order books for the GWM Ora 5 HEV have officially opened in Malaysia. In addition to that, GWM Malaysia has revealed the hybrid SUV’s price tag ahead of its official rollout later this year.
Specifically, the Ora 5 HEV will be made available with an estimated selling price of RM115,000. According to the company, the SUV will officially launch in Malaysia this coming November.
While GWM Malaysia stated that full specifications for the local market will only be revealed at the launch event in November, the general setup should not differ much from other markets.
Under the hood, the Ora 5 HEV features a 110kW (148hp) 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a 140kW (188hp) electric motor. It is also equipped with a 1.09kWh high-voltage battery and a 55L fuel tank.
Together, the system delivers a maximum combined output of 164kW (220hp) and 476Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds. GWM claims the Ora 5 HEV is capable of delivering over 1,100km of range alongside a WLTC-rated fuel consumption of 4.4L/100km.
In terms of dimensions, the Ora 5 HEV measures 4,471mm long, 1,833mm wide, and 1,641mm tall, with a 2,720mm wheelbase—making it noticeably longer and slightly wider than the Ora Good Cat.
Inside, while the Ora 5’s cabin is less colourful than that of the Good Cat, it presents a cleaner and more elegant look. Other notable interior and chassis features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a multi-link rear suspension setup.
