KLIA Ekspres and Transit adult fares to hit RM65 starting 1st January 2027

Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) has announced a fare revision for both KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services, which takes effect on 1st January 2027.

Under the updated fare structure, standard adult one way tickets between KL Sentral and KLIA Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 will rise from RM55 to RM65.

This RM10 increase marks the first price adjustment for the airport train network in 11 years, with ERL last revising its fares back in 2016.

KLIA Ekspres fares (before and after)

Adult one-way fares will rise to RM65 from RM55, while adult return tickets will cost RM118 compared to RM100 previously.

Child tickets for travellers aged six to 15 will go up to RM29 one way from RM25, and RM53 return from RM45. Children under six years old will continue to travel for free.

KLIA Transit fares (before and after)

KLIA Transit services will also see revised fares for standard single journeys, intermediate routes, concessions, and travel passes.

For intermediate journey fares, from KL Sentral, adult single fares to Bandar Tasik Selatan will cost RM7.70 (up from RM6.50), Putrajaya and Cyberjaya will cost RM16.60 (up from RM14.00), and Salak Tinggi will cost RM21.60 (up from RM18.30).

Travel between Bandar Tasik Selatan and KLIA rises to RM45.40 adult, while Putrajaya and Cyberjaya to KLIA will cost RM11.50 adult. Inter-terminal transfers between KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 remain at RM2.00 for adults.

Concession rates for Malaysian senior citizens aged 60 and above, disabled persons, and eligible students under Category A will be set at RM45.50 one way for KL Sentral to KLIA, and RM11.60 for KL Sentral to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.

Category B concessions for airline crew, airport staff, and licenced tourist guides offer flat one way fares of RM41.00 from KL Sentral to KLIA, or RM35.00 from Bandar Tasik Selatan to KLIA.

For frequent commuters, monthly season passes offering 44 trips over 31 days will cost RM465.00 for KL Sentral to KLIA, RM385.00 for KL Sentral to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, and RM210.00 for KL Sentral to Bandar Tasik Selatan.

Weekly season passes providing 14 trips over seven days include RM160.00 for KL Sentral to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, and RM115.00 for Putrajaya and Cyberjaya to KLIA.

Higher operational costs and service upkeep

Commenting on the revised rates, ERL Chief Executive Officer Datin Noormah Mohd Noor explained that the new pricing reflects the real costs of maintaining a high quality airport train service.

She highlighted that ERL has continuously delivered safe and dependable connectivity between the city centre and the airport despite growing operational costs.

She added that the extra revenue will help the operator maintain its high service standards and invest in ongoing improvements for passengers.

The price revision also ensures ERL remains financially stable so it can effectively meet passenger needs well into the future.

Passengers looking to save on travel expenses can still take advantage of digital savings.

ERL confirmed that travellers can enjoy a 10% discount on ticket purchases by booking online through KLIAekspres.com or via the official KLIA Ekspres mobile app.
