Sime Motors will be expanding the 2026 BYD Atto 3 lineup with a new variant: the BYD Atto 3 Performance. This is according to a new promotional image published on BYD Sime Beyond Auto’s social media pages.
The poster also stated that the powertrain on the new variant has a power output of 330kW (443hp). It also claimed that the new Atto 3 Performance will be on display at Beyond Auto’s showrooms in Ara Damansara, TREC KL, Sri Petaling, Tebrau, Mansion Macalister, and Mid Valley Southkey JB from 10 to 13 September.
This means that the launch should be right around the corner. However, Sime Motors itself has yet to publish any announcement or teaser about the Atto 3 Performance on the official BYD Cars Malaysia social media pages at the time of writing.
If the information on the poster is accurate, the Malaysia-spec 2026 Atto 3 Performance should feature 800V architecture and an all-wheel drive (AWD) setup similar to the European-spec Atto 3 Evo AWD. It will likely come with a pair of electric motors that churn out 330kW (443hp) of combined power output and 560Nm of maximum torque.
The setup will allow the Atto 3 Performance to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 200km/h. Based on European and New Zealand specification sheets, the 2026 Atto 3 Performance will likely have a WLTP-rated range of 470km (or around 530km NEDC).
By comparison, the existing Malaysia-spec 2026 Atto 3 Premium RWD has a 230kW (308hp) motor that produces 380Nm of torque. This variant completes the 0–100km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 180km/h.
The rest of the Atto 3 Performance’s main technical specs should be identical to its Premium counterpart, including a 74.88kWh LFP-based BYD Blade battery, 220kW DC fast charging, and 11kW AC charging. Despite having an additional front-mounted motor, this variant will likely continue to feature a 101L frunk, matching the Atto 3 Evo AWD in other markets.
