has announced that the upgraded 2026 will be released in Malaysia soon. The order books for the refreshed model have also opened, and VCM has promised a special reward for the 1st 100 customers.
Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has announced that the upgraded 2026 Volvo EX90 will be arriving in Malaysia soon. Order books for the refreshed model are officially open, and VCM has promised special early-bird rewards for the first 100 customers.
First introduced globally last September, the flagship EV’s headline update is its new 800V architecture, enabling faster charging speeds and enhanced performance.

According to global specifications, the 800V Twin Motor AWD model maintains an estimated WLTP-rated range of up to 623 km, virtually unchanged from the outgoing 400V version.
The switch to 800V architecture boosts peak DC fast charging from 250 kW to 350 kW, reducing 10% to 80% charging times from 30 minutes down to just 22 minutes. AC charging remains capped at 11 kW.
Furthermore, power output jumps to 680 hp and 870 Nm, dropping the 0-100 km/h sprint to 4.2 seconds.

The 2026 EX90 also benefits from an upgraded central computer equipped with dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin systems-on-a-chip (SoC). This unlocks enhanced ADAS features, including Emergency Stop Assist (ESA), expanded automatic emergency steering in pitch-dark conditions, and Park Pilot Assist for parallel parking.
Current owners needn’t worry—data from Malaysia’s National Open Data Portal indicates there are roughly 100+ units on local roads, and VCM has confirmed existing owners are entitled to a free, one-time core computer hardware upgrade.

Additional global updates include an electrochromic panoramic glass roof similar to the ES90 sedan. Official local specifications and pricing will be revealed closer to launch.
For reference, the current 400V EX90 retails at RM442,888. It is also unconfirmed if VCM will introduce the 6-seater variant alongside the standard 7-seater layout.
