Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro Malaysia: Specs and features

Let’s start with design. The Nothing Phone (4a) essentially features the latest evolution of the classic Nothing design, featuring a transparent back and the Glyph Bar that’s made up of six individual white LEDs and one red LED that blinks during video or audio recording.
Like before, the Glyph Bar can be used for features like live notification, Essential notification, Glyph timer, Glyph ringtones, Glyph progress, camera countdown, and volume indicator.

Offered in White, Black, Blue, and Pink colourways, the Nothing Phone (4a) is built with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i at the front and Panda Glass 1681 at the back, wrapped with an aluminium frame.

As for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, it features a fresh new look and is the first Nothing Phone with an aluminium unibody design and can be had in either Black, Silver, or Pink. Unlike the regular model, Nothing’s signature transparent design can only be found at the top portion of the Phone (4a) Pro’s back, which Nothing says is 50% harder and more wear-resistant as compared to last year’s model.
And instead of the Glyph Bar, you get the round Glyph Matrix LED panel first seen on the brand’s flagship Phone (3). Compared to the Phone (3), the Glyph Matrix on the Phone (4a) Pro is larger in size but has fewer pixels — 137 mini-LEDs to be exact — as compared to 489 on the flagship phone. You also lose out on the Glyph Button to scroll through the Glyph Toys, but functionality-wise, it’s pretty much similar to the Phone (3).
In terms of durability, the Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro are rated at IP64 and IP65, respectively, for dust and splash/water jet resistance. Though Nothing says they can withstand water submersion at 25cm of depth for 20 minutes.

At the front of the Phone (4a), you get a 6.78″ 2720×1224 pixels AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. With the Pro model, you get a slightly larger 6.83″ panel with more pixels at 2800×1260, a higher 144Hz refresh rate, and a higher peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
Beyond that, both models are pretty much identical. This includes the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 paired with 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. There’s also a 32MP selfie shooter at the front.
The Nothing Phone (4a) series also features a 5,080mAh battery that charges at 50W and supports 7.5W reverse wired charging, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. Out of the box, both phones run on the brand’s latest Nothing OS 4.1, which is layered on top of Android 16.
