Poco X8 Pro: Flagship-class performance and up to 8,500mAh battery for under RM2,000

The Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max have officially launched and they are now available for purchase in Malaysia.

These are Xiaomi Malaysia’s new mid-range smartphones that boast flagship class performance and huge batteries, priced well below RM2,000. In addition, there’s also a Iron Man Edition that comes in a unique design and it offers more RAM than the standard model.

As usual, you can save more on the new Poco X8 Pro series thanks to its early bird offer.

Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max Malaysia Price

Here’s the official pricing for the Poco X8 Pro series in Malaysia along with its early bird pricing. If you order now, you can get up to RM400 off the normal recommended retail price.

Poco X8 Pro

  • 8GB+256GB – RM1,499 (Promo: RM1,299)
  • 8GB+512GB – RM1,699 (Promo: RM1,499)

Poco X8 Pro Max

  • 12GB+256GB – RM1,999 (Promo: RM1,699)
  • 12GB+512GB – RM2,199 (Promo: RM1,799)

If you’re looking for something different, there’s the Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition and here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:

  • 12GB+512GB – RM1,899 (Promo: RM1,699)

The Poco X8 Pro series can be purchased online via Shopee and Lazada.

Poco X8 Pro Malaysia Specs and Features

If you’re on a budget, the Poco X8 Pro offers a lot of hardware for your money. It gets a 6.59″ 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display with peak brightness of up to 3500 nits and PWM dimming of 3840Hz.

Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

For taking pictures, it gets a dual-camera setup that consists of a 50MP (Sony IMX882) main camera with OIS and a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies, it gets a 20MP front shooter.

Despite being an budget device, it still features Dynamic RGB lights as well as IP69/IP69K-rated dust and water resistance. Connectivity wise, it supports 5G (SA and NSA), Bluetooth 6.0, WiFi 6 and NFC.

Powering the device is a generous 6,500mAh battery that supports 100W HyperCharge as well as 27W reverse charging.

The Poco X8 Pro is available in White, Black and Mint Green.

Poco X8 Pro Max Malaysia Specs and Features

If you prefer a smartphone with more performance and bigger battery, the Poco X8 Pro Max is a worthy contender. It features a larger 6.83″ 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display that boasts 3500 nits of peak brightness and 3840Hz PWM dimming.

Powering the device is a higher tier Dimensity 9500s chip paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

In the camera department, it gets a 50MP main camera (Light Fusion 600) with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, along with a 20MP selfie camera. Like the X8 Pro, there’s also dynamic RGB lights around the camera bump.

In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G (SA and NSA), WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. Similar to the X8 Pro, it also gets IP69/IP69K rated dust and water resistance.

Keeping the lights on is a huge 8,500mAh battery and it also supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging.

The Poco X8 Pro Max is available in White, Black and Blue.
