Chery Malaysia is now offering rebates for Chery Tiggo models across all drivetrain types, including plug-in hybrid (PHEV), in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration. The brand currently has two Tiggo PHEV models under its wings, including the Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV.

Under the new promotion, customers can obtain a rebate of RM6,888 regardless of the Tiggo PHEV that they choose. Chery also offers an additional RM1,000 rebate for units in red, which is a colour that is closely associated with the Chinese New Year.

Chery Tiggo PHEV Malaysia CNY Promo Pricing, Warranty

Here’s how the pricing looks for Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV with the CNY rebates, which are available only for 2025 units and will last until 28 February 2026:

  • Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV: RM129,800 RM122,912 / RM121,912 (red)
  • Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV: RM159,800 RM152,912

Customers will be able to receive a 1-to-1 replacement of the battery pack if its State of Health (SoH) become less than 70% during the warranty period. Chery Malaysia has also waived the labour fee for 6 maintenance service intervals within 5 years for both models.

Cherry Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 PHEV Quick Specs

Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV.

Both Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV are equipped with the same Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system, which features a 141hp (105kW) 1.5L turbocharged engine with 215Nm of torque, that is paired with a 201hp (150kW) electric motor that also produces 310Nm of torque. The CSH system on both models is powered by a 18.3kWh LFP battery and a 60L fuel tank.

Completing their PHEV setup is a 6.6kW AC charging module, which allows their high-voltage battery to be charged from 30% to 80% in 3 hours. Both Tiggo PHEV models also support DC charging speed of up to 40kW, which cuts down the 30% to 80% charging time to 19 minutes, and owners can also utilise them to power up external appliances via their 3.3kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature.

Despite the differences in the physical dimensions and weight, Chery claimed that both Tiggo PHEV models have a pure electric range of up to 90km and 1,200km of combined range. Both figures are based on the more lenient NEDC standard, so their estimated WLTP ranges should be around 77km and 1,020km, respectively.

Meanwhile, it might be hard to tell them apart as their exterior lines look almost similar to each other, but physically, the Tiggo 8 PHEV is longer than the Tiggo 7 PHEV. This does not come as a surprise, since the Tiggo 7 PHEV is a 3-row 7-seater SUV, while the Tiggo 7 PHEV is a 2-row 5-seater SUV.

  • Wheelbase: 2,670mm
  • Curb Weight: 1,795kg
  • Boot Space: Up to 1,386L

At the same time, the Tiggo 7 PHEV is also equipped with 18-inch wheels, while the Tiggo 8 PHEV comes with 19-inch wheels. Interestingly enough, the Tiggo 7 PHEV comes with a panoramic sunroof, but it is not available on the Tiggo 8 PHEV despite being a more premium model.

Both models have been fitted with a Sony audio system, but the Tiggo 8 PHEV has 10 speakers while the Tiggo 7 PHEV is limited to 8 speakers. That being said, the infotainment system for both models is running on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor.
