Maxis has updated that services have been fully restored for affected customers following a telco tower fire at Kampung Kelebor in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

As highlighted by MCMC earlier, the fire occurred on 27th December 2025 at around 6:50pm, and it disrupted services for CelcomDigi, Maxis and Unifi Mobile customers.

In a media statement issued yesterday, Maxis said restoration works were carried out in stages, with full service recovery completed at 1:03am on 29 December 2025 (MYT). This includes all services shared via the Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) arrangement.

According to Maxis, once it was confirmed that the tower remained structurally sound, its technical team proceeded to replace the damaged radio equipment. The work restored connectivity not only at the affected site but also for four linked sites, resolving service disruptions for approximately 3,000 customers in the surrounding areas, including highway users.

Maxis added that they are working closely with Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia and the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the fire.

The green telco acknowledges the statement issued by MCMC on 28th December and reaffirm its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of network safety and reliability. They will also continue to adhere to rigorous maintenance protocols, conduct regular technical inspections and ensure continuous monitoring of their network infrastructure.
