BYD Cars Malaysia is offering its EV owners free charging on 1st January 2026 at selected branches in Malaysia. According to their Facebook page, BYD is providing free charging as a token of gratitude for the support given and for making them the number 1 EV brand in Malaysia.
The free charging is given exclusively for BYD owners only and it is applicable at 13 locations nationwide including Sabah.
Before you head over to charge on New Year’s Day, take note that you’ll need to make an appointment to reserve your slot.

If you’re in the Klang Valley, free charging is available at BYD Setapak (Kah Progression Auto), Cheras (Millenium Autobeyond), Setia Alam (BE Drive Auto) and Balakong (Wing Hin Ventures).
Towards the North, there’s BYD Perai (Denver Auto), Alor Setar (Hong Thai), Ipoh (Goh Brothers), Taiping (Goh Brothers) and Sungai Petani (Lee Motors). In the East Coast, there’s BYD Kuala Terengganu (Prima Motors) and Kuantan (Macinda EV), while in the South, there’s BYD Seremban (Millennium Autobeyond).
Meanwhile, in East Malaysia, the free charging offer is available only at BYD Kota Kinabalu (Regas EV).

It is worth highlighting that the BYD dealerships offer a variety of public and private EV chargers. The DC chargers at the dealerships offer between 40kW to 160kW of power, and several are listed on charging networks such as JomCharge, EVlution, El Charge and Gentari.
