If you need to charge your EV at Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, there’s now a new DC charger deployed by JomCharge.

The Charge Point Operator (CPO) has deployed a DC charger with two bays at St Giles Southkey Hotel in Johor Bahru. In total, there are now 6x DC charge points around the Mid Valley Southkey development which include Gentari’s 120kW DC Charger at the basement carpark of The Mall and another 90kW DC Charger at the BYD showroom.

The new EV charging location is now open for public use and JomCharge and there’s no valet fee required.

JomCharge has installed a 60kW DC Charger with two CCS2 nozzles near the entrance of the St Giles Southkey Hotel.

The charger is priced at RM1.50 per kWh but if you’re a JomCharge Elite member, you can enjoy a lower rate of RM1.35 per kWh with the 10% off benefit.

You can activate and pay for the charger via JomCharge, Gentari Go and ChargEV app.

When this charger was turned on last week, some users reported the location require users to pay a RM50 valet fee to use the charging facility. JomCharge has updated that the RM50 valet fee has been waived so EV users can access the charger without extra chargers.

Remember, once you’re done charging, please move your vehicle so that others can charge as well. Remember, if you’re not charging, you’re hogging.

In case you missed it, Tesla has also announced plans to deploy a Supercharger at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey by the end of 2025.
