Just 5 months after the launch of the Poco F7 series, the Xiaomi sub-brand has launched its next-gen flagships in Malaysia — the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra. These devices feature improvements in aspects such as performance, camera, and battery.

Poco F8 Ultra Malaysia: Specs & features

Now, let’s go through the specs of the top-dog device, the Poco F8 Ultra. First and foremost, you get two colour options, namely Denim Blue and Black.

Up front, there’s a 6.9″ 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2608×1200 pixels. Poco says its latest Ultra device adopts a full RGB subpixel structure, which essentially fully utilises the red-green-blue subpixels. Its 6.9″ panel is also claimed to consume 19.5% less power than the Poco F7 Ultra. Living beneath the display is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

One of the main highlights of the Poco F8 Ultra has to be the chipset that powers it — the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — Qualcomm’s flagship chipset that also powers other top-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 15.

Imaging-wise, you get a triple-50MP setup on the rear, inclusive of a 50MP f/1.67 main shooter with OIS, a 50MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP f/2.0 periscope telephoto camera, making it Poco’s first to feature 5x optical zoom. For selfies, there’s the 32MP front shooter.

Poco has also collaborated with Bose to tune the audio performance on the Poco F8 series. Specifically with the F8 Ultra, you get a 2.1-channel speaker setup that includes two stereo speakers and a dedicated subwoofer, which is the speaker grille located beside the rear camera lenses.

In terms of its battery, the Poco F8 Ultra comes with a 6,500mAh unit, the largest in any Poco F series device. The device supports 100W charging via its USB-C port, allowing it to charge from flat to full in 38 minutes. It also supports Poco’s 50W wireless HyperCharge tech.

As for the rest of the Poco F8 Ultra’s specs, it’s rated at IP68 for dust and water resistance, and runs on the brand’s latest Android 16-based HyperOS 3 software out of the box.

Poco F8 Pro Malaysia: Specs and features

With the Poco F8 Pro, you get three colour options — Titanium Silver, Blue, and Black. Its 120Hz AMOLED display is slightly smaller than its Ultra sibling at 6.59″, pushing out a resolution of 2510×1156.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s flagship chipset from last year, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. As for cameras, you get a 50MP f/1.88 main shooter with OIS, a 50MP f/2.2 2.5x telephoto sensor, and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera. You also get a 20MP front shooter.

Its battery is also slightly smaller at 6,210mAh, but wired charging remains at 100W. It does not support wireless charging, but 22.25W reverse charging via USB-C is included here.
