Smart #5 Premium and Brabus now official in Malaysia; priced from RM199,800

Months after the EV was first previewed in Malaysia, Pro-Net has officially launched Smart #5 in Malaysia. The new electric SUV further expanded Smart’s offering in Malaysia, which includes the Smart #1 and Smart #3.   

Smart #5 Pricing, Colourways

For our market, the Smart #5 is available in two variants. Here’s the pricing for each option:

  • Smart #5 Premium: RM199,800
  • Smart #5 Brabus: RM249,800

In terms of colourways, the Premium variant can be obtained in Meta Black, Cyber Silver, Pulsar Ruby and Saturn Beige. If you prefer the Brabus version, it comes in Atom Grey Matte, Meta Black, and Digital White.

Both variants have also been fitted with an Eclipse Black roof and Shadow Black interior, regardless of the exterior colour that you picked. In case you are wondering about the Lightyear Brown interior in some of the photos in our photo gallery, which was captured during the media preview session back in August, that’s not offered in Malaysia at the moment.

Smart #5 Launch Package, Warranty

Early adopters of the Smart #5 will also receive the All-Inclusive Premium Ownership package from Pro-Net, which covers:

  • Wallbox Charger worth RM3,200
  • V2L adaptor worth RM800
  • 3-year in-car data with 3GB quota per month
  • 6-item accessories set worth RM2,000.

Do note that the pricing mentioned earlier, as well as the launch package, is applicable only to the first 300 buyers who registered their Smart #5.

In terms of warranty, the Smart #5 is covered by a 4-year, unlimited mileage warranty for the vehicle alone. There is a separate 8-year / 200,000km warranty for the high-voltage battery and an 8-year / 150,000km warranty for the related high-voltage components.

Smart #5 Quick Specs

In terms of specs, the Smart #5 Premium is an RWD model that does 267kW (358hp) and 373Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds, up to a top speed of 200km/h.

Meanwhile, the Smart #5 Brabus is the range-topping AWD model. It has dual motors pushing 475kW (637hp) and 710Nm of torque. This performance SUV can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 210km/h.

Both Premium and Brabus variants get a huge 100kWh 800V NMC battery that supports up to 400kW DC fast charging. This means you can top up from 10-80% in just 15 minutes with a high-powered DC charger.

Similar to its #1 and #3 models, the #5 Premium and Brabus support three-phase AC charging up to 22kW, which is faster than most EVs in the market.

Smart #5 Brabus.

The Smart #5 Premium offers a WLTP-rated range of 590km, while the dual-motor Brabus variant is shorter at 540km.

The Smart #5 is a chunky-looking electric SUV with unique details inside and out. On the dashboard, you get not one, not two but a total of three displays which consists of a 10.3″ instrument cluster, 13″ OLED centre display and a 13″ OLED display for the front passengers. Powering the infotainment system is an AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 processor.

Smart #5 Brabus.

For audio, the Smart #5 Premium and Brabus will get a 1,190W 20-speaker Sennheiser Signature Sound System with Dolby Atmos.

In terms of storage, the Smart #5 is very generous with a boot capacity of 630L, expandable up to 1,530L with the rear seats folded. If that’s not enough, there’s also a frunk which offers 72L for the RWD models or 47L for the AWD Brabus version.
