The RON95 petrol subsidy quota for full-time eHailing drivers has now been increased to 600L. This was announced through a brief statement from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) yesterday.
Previously, the same 300L quota applied to all Malaysian citizens with an active driving licence, including eHailing drivers. The statement stated that over 53,900 full-time eHailing drivers have been identified through a verification process that was done via a collaboration between MoF and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
However, the statement did not clarify the exact requirement for one to be deemed a “full-time” eHailing driver. The ministry also didn’t mention in the statement how a driver can check if they have received the additional 300L RON95 quota.
However, we noticed from numerous posts on several eHailing communities on Facebook that the new quota is being deployed automatically to eligible drivers. If you are one of them, you should see your quote being displayed as 600L on related BUDI95 apps such as Touch ‘n Go eWallet and Setel.
Meanwhile, MoF also said that the BUDI95 eligibility list has been expanded to include over 1,400 registered boat owners in Sarawak. Another 11,460 individuals are also now eligible for BUDI95, who consist of those who have just received or renewed their driving license.
