Fully imported (CBU) EVs are expected to get a price hike in just a few months as the Malaysian government has decided not to extend the current tax holiday which is set to end on 31st December 2025. After this, the tax incentives for EVs will only continue for locally assembled (CKD) EVs until 2027.

If you’ve been considering of getting a brand new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y, Tesla Malaysia is asking potential buyers to secure their units as soon as possible to save at least RM20,000 before the tax holiday ends. Take note that your vehicle must be registered by 31st December 2025 to enjoy the current prices.

After all, Tesla has no plans for CKD production and it will be hit by the applicable taxes and duties imposed starting 1st January 2026.

Tesla Malaysia is also running a limited time promo to entice more users to ditch their current petrol vehicles for a brand new EV.

Current Tesla Model 3 and Model Y prices in Malaysia

In Malaysia, Tesla Malaysia is offering a total of four variants of the Model 3 sedan and two variants of the Model Y SUV.

The Tesla Model 3 lineup has recently gotten a revamp which includes the new 750km WLTP-rated Model 3 Long Range RWD variant. On top of that, they have reduced the pricing for existing Model 3 variants by up to RM13,000 while giving them added signal stalk, front camera and new matte black Tesla badges.

Here’s the current starting prices of the Tesla Model 3 (“Highland”) in Malaysia:

  • Model 3 RWD – RM169,000
  • Model 3 Long Range RWD – RM185,000
  • Model 3 Long Range AWD –  RM199,000
  • Model 3 Performance AWD – RM229,000

Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y (“Juniper”) is priced as follows:

  • Model Y RWD – RM195,450
  • Model Y Long Range AWD – RM242,450

Take note that these are the starting prices before customisations such as exterior and interior colours, wheel size upgrades and autopilot upgrades.

Limited Time Incentives with up to RM15,000 uplift for trade-in

For a limited time, Tesla Malaysia is offering extra incentives which include low interest rates and extra uplift for your vehicle trade-in.

For the Tesla Model 3, they are offering a RM7,500 uplift when you trade-in your existing petrol vehicle or special interest rate programme from as low as 0%.

Meanwhile, the Model Y is given a bigger RM15,000 uplift for trade-in or a special interest rate programme that starts at 0.88%.

In addition, Tesla is also providing a complimentary Wall Connector worth RM2,880 which makes it easy to charge your EV conveniently at home.
