If you want an EV with the most range, Tesla has finally introduced its Model 3 Long Range RWD option in Malaysia which boasts an impressive 750km of WLTP-rated range. This is the most amount of range we’ve seen from a sub-RM200,000 EV in Malaysia.
The Tesla Model 3 is currently one of the most efficient EVs in the market with its low drag coefficient rating of 0.219Cd. With a larger battery pack and a lighter single-motor setup, the Long Range RWD is the perfect variant for those who want to clock more km on a single charge.
Based on the advertised range, you should be able to get from Johor Bahru to Sungai Petani easily on a single charge with sensible driving.
Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD offers the most range under RM200,000
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD is priced from RM185,000 which slots right in between the standard RWD and Long Range AWD model.
As usual, the included colour is Stealth Grey and you can opt to other colours at extra cost:
- Pearl White Multi-Coat – RM5,000
- Deep Blue Metallic – RM5,000
- Diamond Black – RM5,000
- Quicksilver – RM11,000
- Ultra Red – RM11,000
As standard, it comes with 18″ Photon Wheels and you can upgrade to 19″ Nova Wheels for RM7,500. To swap from Black to Black and White interior, it will cost you RM5,000.
According to Tesla, this Long Range RWD variant can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds which is quicker than the standard RWD model (0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds). For quick top-ups during long journeys, you can get up to 311km of range in just 15 minutes at Tesla Supercharger as it supports up to 250kW of DC fast charging.
Take note that the 750km WLTP range figures is only applicable if you go with the standard 18″ wheels. If you switch to 19″, the range drops to 691km.
If you miss the physical stalk for indicator, Tesla has also updated the Model 3 which now includes signal stalks similar to the current Tesla Model Y “Juniper”.
Other enhancements include a front camera and also matte black Tesla logo badges for the front and back.
Tesla Model 3 (Highland) now starts from RM169,000
Besides introducing the new Long Range RWD model, Tesla has also revised the pricing for its entire Model 3 lineup.
