The Honor X series, particularly the X9 family, has, in the past few years, built a reputation for durability, often likened to the legendary Nokia 3310. Now, the brand has just launched its latest addition, the Honor X9d 5G, in Malaysia.

Offered in four colour options — Reddish Brown, Sunrise Gold, Forest Green, and Midnight Black, here are the pricing details for the Honor X9d 5G:

During the launch event, Honor also announced with pride that its X Series has been the best-selling mid-range smartphone (priced above RM1,200) for two consecutive years since the launch of the X9b, capturing a commanding 55% share of the segment in 2025.
Honor X9d 5G specs and features in Malaysia
Let’s start with durability. The Honor X9d 5G features the industry’s first 6-layer impact-resistant design, together with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, boosting the device’s overall impact resistance by 112%. This is partly contributed to by a non-Newtonian fluid layer that further absorbs and disperses impact energy.
Drop resistance on the Honor X9d 5G has also been upgraded to a height of 2.5m, up from its predecessor’s 2.0m record. This applies to not just smooth surfaces, but also challenging surfaces such as cobblestone, asphalt, tactile paving, and over 10 other types of stone ground.
For dust and water resistance, the Honor X9d 5G is rated at IP69K, making it water-resistant at depths of up to 6 meters, and capable of resisting high-temperature (85°C) splashes, rinsing, and immersion. In fact, Honor says the phone survived a 30-day submersion in 1 meter of water. This is a major upgrade over the X9c’s IP65M rating. To expel liquid and particles out of the Honor X9d 5G, you can turn on the Drainage and Dust Removal mode.
Together, the Honor X9d 5G is the industry’s first smartphone to receive the SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC, as compared to the X9c’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip. This is then paired with 12GB of RAM (expandable to 24GB via Honor RAM Turbo) and up to 512GB of storage.
Imaging-wise, you get an OIS-equipped 108MP f/1.75 main camera along with a 1/1.67″ sensor that features a 9-in-1 super binning technology. There’s also a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera at the back, along with a 16MP f/2.45 shooter up front.
Keeping lights on for the Honor X9d 5G is an 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is over 25% larger than the X9c’s 6,600mAh cell. Honor says this is capable of lasting you up to 23.8 hours of video playback, and 3 days under regular use.
For audio, Honor has equipped the X9d 5G with a dual-speaker setup and what it calls the “400% Ultra Volume Mode”.
Running on the brand’s MagicOS 9.0 skin, which is based on Android 15, the Honor X9d 5G offers a set of AI features, such as AI Remove Reflection, AI Eraser, AI Upscale, AI Writing Tools, and Magic Portal 2.0. You also get Google’s own Gemini AI digital assistant and Circle to Search feature.
