Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series has officially arrived in Malaysia with great fanfare at The Exchange TRX, home to the country’s first Apple Store.
Similar to last year’s iPhone 16 series launch, the doors opened earlier at 8:00am, with approximately 200 people in line at 7:30am.
Malaysia is among the first wave countries to get the latest iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This round Apple has expanded its list of first wave countries which now includes Vietnam as the 4th first wave market in the ASEAN region.
To recap, the iPhone 17 was announced last Wednesday, 10th September and pre-orders in Malaysia started on last Friday, 12th September 2025.
Today marks the official availability for the latest iPhone across all channels which include authorised Apple retailers, telco partners and Apple’s official channels including the Apple Store.
The lines in front of the Apple Store were split into two: one for pick-up orders and another for walk-in customers.
The first in line for pick-up was Danial, who had queued up since 12:00 a.m and he picked up his iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange.
Meanwhile, the first in line for walk-ins was Md. Tushar Ahmed Hasan from Bangladesh, who had arrived in Malaysia two days ago. He stood in line before 4:00am and he also purchased the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange.
The first day iPhone 17 pick up and walk-in experience went smoothly at TRX. There were many Apple staff on ground ready to assist customers with their purchase including accessories.
Customers who need help to setup their new iPhone can schedule for a private session with an Apple Specialist.
On the upper floor, the store also kicked off the first Today at Apple session with a quick 15-minute walkthrough of the new iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro features.

If you plan to get the new iPhone at Apple The Exchange TRX, you can still place your order online and choose in-store pickup for today, subject to colour and storage availability.
The Apple Store also accepts trade-ins including Android smartphones and they also offer 0% interest instalment plans up to 24 months.
