Dyson has never been shy about charging a premium. For years, the brand has made a name for itself by over-engineering everyday appliances, sometimes brilliantly, sometimes questionably, and slapping on a price tag that makes your wallet flinch.
At IFA Berlin 2025, Dyson showed off a whole lineup of new machines, from vacuums to air treatment. But for this article, we’re zeroing in on the flagships, the most advanced, most expensive product in each category. These are the devices that show what Dyson thinks your home should look like if money isn’t an issue.
We don’t have Malaysian pricing just yet, but if Dyson’s history is anything to go by, don’t expect them to be cheap.
Dyson V16 Piston Animal (Stick Vacuum)
The V16 Piston Animal is Dyson at full blast. A 900W Hyperdymium motor delivers 315 air watts of suction, and Dynamic Cyclones kick in for an extra boost when needed. The Submarine 2.0 wet roller lets it mop as it vacuums, the dual conical, anti-tangle brush bars eject long hair straight into the bin, and the Remote Release design makes switching between wet and dry heads painless.
Add in the CleanCompactor bin, which compresses up to 30 days’ worth of dirt, and you get Dyson’s most ambitious stick vacuum to date.
In the UK, the Dyson V16 Piston Animal starts at £749.99 (~RM4,500), with the Submarine variant at £899.99 (~RM5,400). Here’s the rub: Samsung’s Bespoke Jet AI Ultra already claims 400W of suction and comes with a self-emptying clean station.
Dyson doesn’t win the raw-power contest. What it does offer is integration. Suction, mopping, detangling, auto floor detection, and bin compression in one machine. The question is whether that package is worth more than Samsung’s raw horsepower.
Dyson Spot + Scrub Ai Robot
Dyson’s Spot + Scrub takes a swing at robotic cleaning with 18,000 Pa suction and an AI system that uses before-and-after image analysis to re-clean stubborn stains. Its 12-point hydration roller scrubs hard floors, while the multifunction dock empties dust, cleans and dries the mop, and refills the water tank. In short, it vacuums carpets, washes hard floors, and even cleans itself.
That’s more than what most robots attempt. Samsung’s Jet Bot AI+, for example, navigates well and empties itself neatly, but it doesn’t scrub stains. Dyson’s advantage is clear, but so is its drawback: this robot is huge. TechRadar summed it up bluntly: Why is it so enormous? If you live in a small apartment, this might feel like a space-hogging roommate rather than a discreet cleaner.
Dyson Hot + Cool HF1 (Bladeless Fan)
The Hot + Cool HF1 is Dyson’s fastest, quietest fan heater yet: it heats rooms faster, operates 25% quieter, and comes with an in-built temperature sensor, pre-heat mode, sleep mode, and full app control via MyDyson. It’s also the brand’s first connected fan heater.
That sounds modern, but here’s the reality: other brands have offered app control and smart scheduling for years. Dyson isn’t breaking new ground here, just catching up. The Hot + Cool HF1 is sleek and quieter than most, but in 2025, “finally has app control” isn’t the revolutionary headline you’d expect from Dyson.
Dyson HushJet Purifier Compact (Air Purifier)
This is Dyson’s new compact air purifier, and it feels like real innovation. The HushJet nozzle, inspired by jet engines, delivers focused airflow with almost no noise, just 24 dB in sleep mode.
It captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 µm, has real-time air quality sensing, and is controlled through the MyDyson app or voice assistants. The long-life electrostatic HEPA filter lasts up to five years, slashing running costs.
At US$350 (~RM1,600), it’s cheaper than most Dyson flagships, but still premium compared to everyday purifiers.
Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x (Hair Styling)
The Airwrap Co-anda 2x takes Dyson’s cult beauty tool and makes it better. The Hyperdymium 2 motor delivers twice the air pressure for faster drying, while six styling tools come in the box. The RFID-enabled attachments automatically adjust heat and airflow settings, so you spend less time fiddling and more time styling.
In the UK, it’s £579.99 (~RM3,480). That’s eye-watering for a hair tool, but here Dyson still leads. Plenty of brands have tried cheaper alternatives, but none strike the same balance of versatility, speed, and hair health.
If you own the older Airwrap, the upgrade might feel incremental. But if you’re buying fresh, this is still the tool everyone else is chasing.
Dyson Supersonic r (Hair Dryer)
First designed for professionals, the Supersonic r is now available to regular buyers. Its unique curved “r” shape is 30% lighter and 20% smaller than Dyson’s original Supersonic, making it easier to handle.
Like the Airwrap, it uses RFID-enabled attachments that auto-adjust airflow and temperature. At £449.99 (~RM2,700), it’s one of the priciest hair dryers on the market.
The styling precision is excellent, but the value is questionable: the Supersonic Nural (RM1,899 Promo), which costs less, offers more features for everyday use. This makes the Supersonic r feel like Dyson flexing its design muscles, brilliant in the right hands, but maybe overkill for most.
The bottom line
These six machines show Dyson at its most ambitious and its most expensive. Sometimes it pays off, like with the scrubbing Spot + Scrub Ai Robot and the Airwrap Co-anda 2x, where Dyson still sets the standard. Other times, like the Dyson V16 Piston Animal not topping suction charts or the Hot + Cool HF1 arriving late to “smart” features, the premium is harder to swallow.
Even without Malaysian pricing, the UK/US numbers make one thing clear: Dyson isn’t interested in competing on affordability. Owning its best products means buying into a vision of the “ultimate” home: sleek, over-engineered, and undeniably expensive. The only question left is whether you think that vision is worth the price of entry.
