For some people, a smartphone is a status symbol, but for others, it’s a practical tool, and Honor has just launched a product catered to the latter audience. Introducing the Honor X70 (no, not a car) that has just made its debut in China, packing a gigantic battery, top-notch durability, and convenient charging solutions, all at an affordable price.

Honor X70 packs gigantic battery, yet slimmer than the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone

As you’ve read in the title above, the Honor X70 packs a huge 8,300mAh silicon carbon battery under its hood. That’s even larger than what the Honor Power, which debuted in April earlier this year.

The phone is also SGS certified, and is marketed as drop, dust, and water resistance, and is rated at IP66/68/69K. Despite that, the Honor X70 didn’t end up becoming a ridiculously thick dude, but instead is pretty thin, measuring just 8mm flat in thickness. This makes it slimmer than the world’s thinnest book-style foldable, which is also its own sibling, the Magic V5, which measures at 8.8mm when folded.

Charging is also another impressive aspect of the Honor X70, which offers 80W for both wired and wireless charging. The phone even supports reverse wireless charging, at least for the top-of-the-line model.

Display-wise, the Honor X70 is equipped with a 6.79″ 1.5K (2640×1200) 120Hz AMOLED display that has a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. As for performance, the X70 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

For imaging, you get a single 50MP f/1.88 camera at the back with OIS, and an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter up front. As for connectivity, the Honor X70 supports WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.

In the software department, the Honor X70 runs on Honor’s MagicOS 9.0, which is based on Android 15.

Honor X70 pricing and configurations in China

In China, the Honor X70 is available in configurations:

  • Honor X70 (8GB+128GB) – RMB 1,399 (~RM829)
  • Honor X70 (8GB+256GB) – RMB 1,599 (~RM946)

  • Honor X70 (12GB+512GB) – RMB 1,999 (~RM1,183)
