Maxis introduces its new Hotlink Travel SIM which aims to provide the best value for tourists visiting Malaysia as well as outbound tourists to neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Priced from RM35 for the Travel SIM, tourists can enjoy “Unlimited” 5G data across four countries as well as unlimited calls within Malaysia.

“Unlimited” 5G in 4 countries from RM35

The Hotlink Travel SIM comes in two packages. For short term trips, the base 15-day option costs RM35 while the long-term 30-day option costs RM60.

Both plans offer “Unlimited” 5G data usage in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. While in Malaysia, the Travel SIM offers unlimited calls and also hotspot usage.

However, take note that the internet speed for both 15-day and 30-day options are limited to 12Mbps, which is sufficient for 1080p HD video streaming.

There’s also a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 100GB. Once you’ve hit your limit, your “Unlimited” 5G speed will be throttled down to 512kbps.

If you need more high-speed data while roaming, just purchase a Data Roam Pass via the Hotlink app. Travel SIM users can also roam in other countries by purchasing the relevant roam passes.

If you need to extend your usage in Malaysia, Hotlink Travel SIM users also can activate from a range of passes priced from RM4 to RM45. The base RM4 day pass offers “Unlimited” internet at 6Mbps with 6GB FUP, while the weekly RM12 pass offers “Unlimited” internet at 6Mbps with 20GB FUP.

If you need an extra month of usage, there’s the “Unlimited” 6Mbps option with 40GB of data at RM25, or the 40GB High-speed data option which includes roaming in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, for RM45. These passes also come with unlimited calls within Malaysia.

Where to purchase Hotlink Travel SIM?

According to Hotlink, the Travel SIM is available at the following Maxis Centres:
