Gentari Go has expanded its EV charging footprint with DC Handal as their latest roaming partner. This means Gentari Go users can now find and activate over 150 additional EV charge points on the DC Handal network.

According to Gentari Go, they currently offer over 5,000 roaming chargers around the region.

DC Handal is Gentari Go’s latest roaming partner

Similar to its existing roaming agreement with ChargEV and JomCharge, Gentari Go users can explore DC Handal chargers through the live map which is identified by a black pin.

DC Handal operates mostly DC chargers with some AC charge points at select locations. Its EV charging rate starts from as little as RM1.00 per kWh (IJM ICE Gallery @ Pantai Sentral Park, Pulse Grande Hotel Putrajaya) to RM1.50 per kWh.

Some locations offer a discounted rate of RM1.30 per kWh such as Medini EV Forecourt in Johor, Udini Square Penang, Bamboo Hills, MH Hotel Ipoh and Menara Matrade.

Extra 6% roaming fee applies to DC Handal chargers

However, take note that Gentari Go chargers a roaming fee of 6% on top of the charging fee for DC Handal chargers. This means a charger that costs RM1.50 per kWh, would effectively cost you RM1.59 per kWh, while a RM1.30 per kWh charger costs RM1.38 per kWh.

From our checks within the Gentari Go app, the extra 6% roaming fee is also applicable to Carput Zap chargers, while ChargEV and JomCharge chargers are still offered with 0% roaming fees for now.

If you don’t want to incur extra roaming fees, you can always activate DC Handal chargers by tapping your credit, debit or prepaid card on the provided card terminals. Besides Gentari Go, EV chargers on the DC Handal network can also be activated via JomCharge and ChargEV apps.

The key benefit of using Gentari Go is its loyalty program where you can earn points for completing every EV charging sessions including its roaming partners. You can earn 1 point for every RM1 spent, and can claim discount vouchers at a rate of RM10 off with 100 points for future charging sessions on Gentari’s own EV charging network.
