After much teasing, the Google Pixel 9a is now officially available for purchase in Malaysia. This is the most affordable smartphone in the Pixel 9 lineup and it is essentially Google’s answer to the iPhone 16e.

The Google Pixel 9a comes in two storage variants and here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:
- Pixel 9a 128GB – RM2,699
- Pixel 9a 256GB – RM3,199

As part of its limited time launch offer, Shopee Malaysia is offering the Pixel 9a from as low as RM225/month via SPayLater with 0% interest instalment plan for 12 months. The Pixel 9a is available in 4 colour options – Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony and Iris.
Meanwhile, the official Pixel 9a case is also available for RM149.
For those who prefer to buy the device on a telco contract, the Pixel 9a is also available via CelcomDigi, Maxis and U Mobile.
Google Pixel 9a Specs and Features
The Google Pixel 9a comes with a 6.3″ Actua OLED display that pushes a Full HD+ 2424×1080 pixels resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. It boasts up to 2,700 nits of peak brightness and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood, it runs on a similar Tensor G4 processor as its more premium siblings. The device comes only with 8GB of RAM and with the option of either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
In the camera department, it gets a dual-camera setup that consists of a 48MP f/1.7 main camera and a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter. Meanwhile, the front of the device comes with a 13MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.
Besides 5G sub-6GHz, the device supports WiFi 6E (2.4GHz+5GHz+6GHz), Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. The device also has stereo speakers, 2 microphones and it is also dust and water resistant with IP68 rating.
Keeping the lights on is a 5,100mAh battery that’s rated to last over 30 hours on a single charge. The Pixel 9a supports 23W wired USB PD3.0 charging and 7.5W wireless charging.
As you would expect from a Google Pixel device, the Pixel 9a comes with Android 15 out of the box and it is offered with 7 years of security and OS updates.
